EVS this reminds me alot of Brutal Truth doing thier noiser
less catchy stuff, i liked Brutal Truth but its the powerchorded thrash type riffs that grabbed me most, whereas this is so freestyled like some of the parts of "Sounds of the Animal Kingdom" and i think that was a really fucking huge influence on this band, once again this band is a little out of my spectrum. What i hear is alot of weird offkey noise that seems pretty structured in its lack of structure. if this band covered a song from "Sound of the Animal Kingdom" I doubt you'd know it wasnt Brutal Truth. The production i think is very good, the bass has a realy strong presence since so much guitar is high stringed noise flurries and rarely any chords or true riffs, very "experimental" i guess. This falls into what i like to call freeform or freestyle grindcore just because the writing is so chaotic. Sete Star Sept this seems like deathrash with bad production and only one guitar, when a solos starts all that backs it is drums so it has a "sloppy" or silly feel The vocals are high rough screams and some standard deathmetal low, all of this seems deathmetal and the last song seems a little melodic, this is totaly demo sounding from production to performance, the vocals hit some funny squacking highs and the leads and solos are really in your face because of the lack of backing, it seems as if it could be done in fun at times but i know nothing about this band. Cunts total shit noise with only vocals and drums, its really hard to form an opinion on shit noise especially with no guitars or bass, i've enjoyed some noisecore but this is a bit too minimalist for me to endure, i guess i could say like Final Exit with no guitars its noisey and has nigh screams and some low roars, varying beats and i'd probly think more of it with some distorted guitars but as it stand i could see laughing it up live but i cant get into this recording. Hells Missionells i like this band best of whats on here but its a clean metal sound with grind styled vocals, kind of like going back to 80's metal but giving it some half decent vocals. songs are a bit long and have varying chords/breakdowns, these songs are structured and well done. This isnt really my favorite style of music but i think they did a good job but its a little too metal influenced. The vocals are high screams and low HC/Grind type low yells and they are both used in a dual vocals style. Theres one short grind song but everything else is very "heavy metal" with smooth powerchorded riffs, I guess its just a little too refined and clean sounding for me and probly something i would like more on demos. I can not beleve it's not grind core -web zine |

This SplitCD with a strange packaging begins with EXACTLY VIOLENT STYLE who already impressed me a lot with their first full length release, and with their live release! So EVS is back with 4 tracks ? with 1 same track than on gLive in Koenjih, now recorded in studio ? of their XP Noise HxCx Grind, totally unique and fucking violent and effective!! Musically, itfs still so difficult to describe the stuff this band is playing as it goes from rather classical Grind Core to the most XP and messy HxCx Noise!! Unique band!! Hypnotic ear-bleeding Harsh Grind Core Violence!! 2nd band is SETE STAR SEPT, unleashing 3 tracks of very good Grind Core with a raw sound and a lot of good ideas, blast beats, guttural and screaming vokills, effective guitar breaks ? and even some lead guitar ? some very heavy riffs like on their 3rd track, and a fucking good mood!! Tracks are rather short, but itfs enough to imagine how would sound a full length release from this band!! Absolutely killer!! I keep an eye on this excellent band!! 3rd band is CUNTS coming a live recorded track of 8 minutes. CUNTS is about Noise only made with drums and vocals, and Ifd say this is not the most interesting band of this SplitCD. Only Noise, of course without any riffs or whatever, just blasts and screams. Last band is HELL MISSINELLS coming with 4 tracks of Heavy Grind Crust with Old Skull influences!! During the listening of these 4 tracks, it reminded me of REPULSION influenced by some MOTORHEAD riffing, or even POSSESSED and first SEPULTURA!! Guttural and screaming vokills give a modern touch to this Old School mixture, very catchy, and making me headbanging during all of these 4 tracks!! A very good surprise to end this SplitCD!! At last, this SplitCD is for me a must have, but you need to be a bit open-minded to really have a good time listening to it!! BUY OR DIE!!! Vomit soul zine |
