そして最初は傷ついて　誰も彼女を心地よく出来なかったけど
She finally came to appreciate it
最後には彼女はそれに感謝するようになった

そして好きになった　好きになった　なんと彼女も驚いたことだろう
And though still alone, she grew so much inside
いまでも一人ぼっちだけど　心はずっと成長した

And after a time, she became so sublime
そして時を経て　彼女は崇高になった
She could look in peoples eyes and read their minds
その目を見るだけで人の心が読めるようになったんだ

She would long for her past and the memories they bring
突然彼女は自分の過去とその思い出を懐かしみ
She decided to return to her old home town
彼女は故郷の旧い街に帰る決心をした

So, Mary came back and at first no one recognized her face
そして彼女は帰って来たが　最初は誰も彼女の顔に気がつかなかった
And her friends were all a little bit afraid
彼女の友人たちは皆少しばかり恐がっていた
When they heard what she had to say
彼女の話を聞くうちに
They all slowly backed away
彼らは少しずつ後ろにひいていったんだ
And her family took her aside and put their arms around her
そして彼女の家族は彼女を側によせて　その手に彼女を抱きしめた
They said Mary won't you please come back to us now
彼らは言ったのさ　メアリーよどうか今こそ僕らのとこへ戻っておくれ
There is still time to repent for all your sins
お前の罪が償われるには時間がかかるけどと
And Mary started to cry when she realized
メアリーは泣き出したのさ
That she'd never come home again in her life
自分が再び家に帰れないことに気がついたから
