I got hold of this very rare Mansun pirate CD made in China, thanks to my friend Jeffrey. And I thought it might be interesting for Mansun collectors to see those scans. It looks, for all the world, as if it's an official release, with shrink wrap, seal (similar to those of US CDs), sticker and even a bar code and catalogue number! The picture below is the sticker on the shrink wrap.

However, when you open the seal, you'll find the booklet completely different
from official releases, or simply cheap. The picture left is inside the booklet. It contains lyrics but no pictures nor credits at all. Instead, front sleeve and back are printed twice. |

And of course, the label design shows it's a fake. | ||

But the most unsual thing is the recorded side of the CD. It's pitch-black!
And it's still playable! I've never seen such a CD nor CD-R. As a matter of fact, it looks like 5" vinyl record without groove (only slightly light-weighted) and I have no idea why it can be played on a CD player. The sound quality is very good, by the way. |
