大曲lillypadsを初めて聴いたときの衝撃が大きかった。ギター、エレクトロニクス、ビート・プログラミング、ドラムが反復を重ねて、少しづつその色彩を変え、昇りつめてゆく音像は果てしなくドラマティック。ラップトップと生音を絶妙に掛け合わせたグルーヴはダイナミックでありつつビューティフル。エレクトロニカとポストロックを同義で捉え、それらをごく自然に曲に落とし込む感性と演奏力の柔軟さに惚れた。
調べてみたら、1stをリリースした時点では18、19歳だったというからまたもや衝撃。オフィシャルによると、2004年の夏にtiki obmarはバンドという形態をやめ、Brettのソロ・ユニットとなった模様。それってどうなの？(23.11.04)
