Chocolat Virtuoso Japan
Although the most of the members are based in Japan, we all have some experience in Europe.
Therefore, you can enjoy our music which is unique with the European taste added.
Our goal is not only performing music by ourselves,
but also to nurturing young musicians with organizing the musical clinics and concerts.

Horn Nozomu Segawa 1979-1983 Studies at the University of Fine Arts and Music in Tokyo, diploma with major in horn with Prof. Kozo Moriyama.
1983-1987 Studies at the “Hochschule fur Musik” in Munchen,diploma with major in horn with Prof.Otto Schmitz.
1988-1992 Contract at the Orchestra of the Beethovenhalle in Bonn and the city of Solingen.
1993-1997 Member of the Classical Philharmonic in Bonn.
Since 2002, executive director of the JHS(Japan Horn Society).
Since 1999, member of the IHS and since summer 2006, advisory council of the IHS.
Currently, freelance horn player in Japan and Professor at the “Nippon Sport Science University”.

Double Bass Dan Ishimoto Studied under Yoshio Nagashima and Asahiko Eguchi at Tokyo Art University, and with Shunsaku Tsutsumi at Toho Gakuen University. Graduated from Der Hochschule der Kunste(University of Art for music) Berlin as the best bassist, under the tutelage of prof. R.Zepperitz.
After being the solobassist at the Staatlichen sinfonie Orchester Greiz/Thuringen and the assistant solobassist at the Brandenbrugisches Staatsorchester Frankfurt/Oder, Philharmonischen Orchester/Buhnen der stadt Nurnberg, he plays in the Orchestre National de Belgique since autumn 1999.
He performs in major orchestras but also active as a soloist, and performs in Germany and in Japan. In 1992, he took part in Saitou Kinen Orchestra, Europe-American Tour. Every summer, he plays in the Japan Tour of NHK symphonic Orchestra.. He has been influenced by his professors, Ludwig Streicher, Michinori Bunya, Klaus Stoll.
He is Vice-President of Chocolat Virtuoso Japan.
Violin Yumino Toyoda Born in Cologne, Germany.
From young age, he had Learned violin from his father: Koji Toyoda.
Won 1st place at "German youth Music Competition, violin category".
Studied under Gerard Jarry at Conservatoire national supérieur de musique. Won a prize at "Concours Long-thibaud, Geneva International Music Competition and Naples International Music Competition".
Concertmaster of Bamberger Sinphoniker, Berlin Radio Symphony Orchestra, Orchestre de Chambre de Lausanne, and Wurttembergisches Kammerorchesters Heilbronn.
Currently active as a Guest concertmaster at The Tokyo Chamber Opera Theatre, Japan Philharmonic Orchestra and Assistant professor of Toho Gakuen School of Music.

Violin Haruko Segawa Born in New York, USA.
Graduated from Tokyo University of the Arts (former Tokyo National University of Fine Arts and Music). Studied under Prof. Kurt Guntner at Hochschule f ü ur Musik und Theater Munchen Meisterklasse.
Performed Mendelssohn Concerto with Bad Reichenhall Philharmonic.
Former contract member of Bavarian State Orchestra and official member of Beethoven Orchester Bonn. Received Incentive Award at Kirishima International Music Festival, Chamber Music Award at Austria International Music Festival.
Currently Performing in Orchestra, chamber music, solo, recording and etc. Resident of Ichikawa City, Chiba.
Viola Shoko Mabuchi Graduate from Toho Gakuen School of Music.
Won 3rd place and received Special Award at Premio Paolo Borciani, Italy.
Received scholorship from ABC Musical Promotion Foundation and studied under Bruno Pasquier at Conservatoire national supérieur de musique.
Won 2nd place and received Asahi Beer Award at The Tokyo International Music Competition chamber ensembles category. Won 3rd place at Internationalen Musikwettbewerbs der ARD Munchen in '93.
Currently, the instructor of Showa Academia Musicae instructor and a member of Kioi Simfonietta Tokyo and Tokyo Mozart Players.
Flute Hideaki Sakai Born in Hokkaido.
Studied under Toshinori Ishihara at Kunitachi College of Music. Studied under Prof. Paul Meisen at Northwest German Music Academy in Detmold, Germany.
Won 3rd place (No 1st place winner) at Internationalen Musikwettbewerbs der ARD Munchen.
Studied under Prof. Paul Meisen at Hochschule f ü ur Musik und Theater Munchen Meisterklasse, and assigned as an assistant.
Won 2nd place (no 1st place winner) at Geneva International Music Competition. Former First Flutist at Philharmonia Hungarica in Marl, Germany.
Currently active as a guest professor at Senzoku Gakuen College of Music, soloist, chamber music, judge for major competitions, etc.
Cello Yasuo Maruyama Born in Sendai.
Studied at Tokyo University of the Arts (former Tokyo National University of Fine Arts and Music) and graduate school. Also received diplomas from Chigiana Musical Academy, Italy and Universitat der Kunste Berlin.
Won 1st place at The music Competition of Japan. Won prizes at several domestic and international competitions and performed as a soloist with major orchestras in Japan.
Currently, active as first chellist of the Tokyo Mozart Players and a member of Kioi Simfonietta Tokyo.
Recently his production of the chamber music selection "Essence of the music" is attracting public attention.
Piano Takuhiro Murayama Born in Tokyo.
Moved to Germany, after graduating from Tokyo Metropolitan High School for Music and Fine arts. Studied at Hochschule f ü ur Musik und Theater Munchen and graduated from Hochschule f ü ur Musik Karlsruhe, soloist class. Studied under Gerhard Oppitz, Kalle Randalu, Elisabeth Leonskaja, Leonard Hokanson, Maria Tipo.
2nd place (no 1st place winner) at A.M.A.Calabria competition, Italy, and 3rd place at 6th. Schubert Competition in Dortmund, Germany.
Currently, active as an assistant instructor at Hochschule f ü ur Musik Karlsruhe, soloist, and chamber musician.

Horn Makoto Kanaboshi Born in Nara.
Graduated from Tokyo University of the Arts (former Tokyo National University of Fine Arts and Music) and Staatliche Hochschule fur Musik und Darstellende Kunst Stuttgart. Studied under Kozo Moriyama, Hiroshi Matsuzaki, Radovan Vlatkovi?.
Won the prize at 8th Japan Wind and Percussion Competition. Former member of Stuttgart Ensemble, secondaly first hornist at Innsbruck Symphony Orchestra hornist, and first hornist at Philharmonia of the Nations.
Currently, active as a first hornist at Orchestra Ensemble Kanazawa and an instructor at Kurashiki Sakuyo University Music Faculty.
Workshop instructor, Conductor Yukari Ishimoto Started piano at the age 4, from at the age 8, studied under prof. Fumihiko Kinoshita.
Graduated from Tokyo College of Music and Universitat der Kunste Berlin, conductor course. Studied udner prof. Seiichi Mitsuishi, prof. Hans-Martin Rabenstein, and learned the technique of accompaniment for opera from prof. Wolf.
Worked as an assistant for Naozumi Yamamoto at "Beethoven's Ninth Symphony with 10000 people" broadcasted by TBS Japan in 1990.
Currently based in Berlin, Germany and active as official conductor for 3 other orchestras as below.

    Since started 1991, won 2nd place at German amateur concour in Berlin for 1st time entry. Performed twice in Japan, 3 times in France. During the 2nd performance in France, received a medal from the mayer of Montpon city in Bordeaux. Was invited by The Fryderyk Chopin University of Music to perform in Warsaw, Poland.
Das Orchester Berliner Musikfreunde e.V.
    Established 1866, Oldest semi professional orchestra in Berlin. Sergiu Celibidache was also a conductor of this orchestra.
Ensemble Nagomi
    Established 2000. Receiving acclaim for performing Japanese songs all over in Germany. Invited to many Japan-Germany events. Established Japan branch in 2002.

Cello Seiko Ishida Started Cello at the age of 10, participating school orchestra at early school days for 6 years.
After graduated from Tokyo University of the Arts instrumental, studied under prof. Kelif Carnarius at Hochschule fur Musik Hanns Eisler, Berlin Germany.
Also has studied under Fumiaki Kawano, Masashi Korai, Mineo Hayashi, Ko Iwasaki, Georg Faust (first chellist at Berliner Philharmoniker), Franz Bartholomaeu (first chellist at Wiener Philharmoniker), Barnard Greenhaus, Catalin Ilea, Matias de Oliviera Pinto, Michael Sanderling.
Since 1996, performing as a soloist in Germany, Spain, France, Bulgaria and Japan. Performing at a various concert as chamber musician.
Spring 2003, received acclaim for performing as a members of "Joe Hisaishi Concert 'a Wish to the Moon' Etude & Encore PIANO STORIES 2003" concert tour. Also performing as a orchestra musician in several orchestra in Japan.
Since 2004, starting as a trainee at Brandenburg Orchestra. Member of the Osaka Philharmonic Orchestra since May 2006.

Cello Hiromi Uekusa After graduating from The Music High School attached to The Faculty of Music TOKYO GEIDAI and Tokyo University of the Arts instrumental, stayed with New Japan Philharmonic for 10 years. During in that 10 years, studied in the USA and gave some recitals.
In 1997, recorded the CD for Piazzolla's tango with chello "Cafe 1930". Together with the release of the CD, had the concert at Tokyo Opera City Recital Hall. In 1999, gave a recital including electric violoncello at Sogetsu Hall. Feb. 2000, performed in "Recital in the afternoon" NHK-FM radio. Also performing with many artists at recording session and concerts including the one at Carnegie Hall.
In spring 2003, performing as a members of "Joe Hisaishi Concert 'a Wish to the Moon' Etude&Encore PIANO STORIES 2003" concert tour. The concert at Tokyo Opera City Concert Hall was released on DVD.

Double Bass Reo Watanabe After graduating from Tokyo University of the Arts (former Tokyo National University of Fine Arts and Music), entered its graduate school. Also Studied at Hochschule fur Musik Wurzburg where he received the title of "Double bass Meister" by unanimously at the mastership concert.
Was a trainee at the Bayerische Staatsoper in Munich.
Finalist of Izuminomori International Contrabass Competition in Osaka.
Received jury's special award at sperger International Competition.

Horn Atsushi Doyama Studied at The Music High School attached to The Faculty of Music TOKYO GEIDAI and Tokyo University of the Arts (former Tokyo National University of Fine Arts and Music). Graduated from Maastricht Conservatory in the Netherland.
While he was a student, received awards from many conpetitions, such as Japan Wind and Percussion Competition, The music Competition of Japan and Tokyo Music Competition.
After being the second hornist at Japan Shinsei Symphony Orchestra, currently part-time instructor at Tokyo University of the Arts (former Tokyo National University of Fine Arts and Music) orchestra music dept. and the Music High School attached to The Faculty of Music TOKYO GEIDAI.
Horn Kensho Hagiwara From Asahikawa, Hokkaido.
Studied horn under Masayuki Yasuhara at Tokyo College of Music. Won 3rd place at 5th Japan Wind and Percussion Competition, a prize at 59th The music Competition of Japan.
1991 and 1992, attended Aspen Music Festival and School in USA with scholorship. Studied under John Cerminaro.
1993 & 1997, invited to International Horn Symposium as a guest player.
Currently, in addition to being a member of Tokyo BACH-BAND and Tokyo Mozart Players, active in various genre music scene.

Horn Shin Mori After the graduation from Tokyo University of the Arts (former Tokyo National University of Fine Arts and Music) where he studied under Kozo Moriyama, studied under Gerd Seifert at Universitat der Kunste Berlin. Had performed with many orchestras and chamber music ensembles and obtained Konzertexamen.
After moving back to Japan, performing as soloist and a member of chanber music group. In addition to being an instructor, active as a coordinator for the various horns' (such as Alps horn) concerts.

Oboe Satoki Aoyama Spend childhood in Germany.
Studied at The Music High School attached to The Faculty of Music TOKYO GEIDAI, Tokyo University of the Arts (former Tokyo National University of Fine Arts and Music), Hochschule fur Musik und Theater Hannover, Staatliche Hochschule fur Musik und Darstellende Kunst Stuttgart and the graduate college with the honor. Piano Yukiko Furukawa Born in Nigata.
Graduated from Universitat der Kunste Berlin. Studied under Prof. Elena Lapitzkaja and Prof. Martin Hughes.
Won 3rd place at piano category of Concours internationaux de musique et de chant de l'UFAM.
Currently, reside in Japan. Not only active as a pianist also as a producer of the childrens' musicals and lectures, a host of the radio show and so on.
Member of Vocal Ensemble KuR.
   
Viola Fumiko Aoki Started taking violin lesson at the age of 4, switched to Viola at the age of 17.
1998, graduated from Tokyo University of the Arts (former Tokyo National University of Fine Arts and Music). In the same year, win at Japan Chamber music competition, then moved to Paris in order to study at Conservatoire national supérieur de musique. 2001, graduated with the highest honor. Studied under Toshiyuki Uzuka, Yuki Hyakutaka, Bruno Pasquier, Francoise Nielly.

Viola Kaori Bamba Born in Osaka.
Graduated from Kyoto Municipal Kyoto Horikawa Senior High School of Music, Tokyo University of the Arts (former Tokyo National University of Fine Arts and Music) and studied at their graduate school.
While at college, formed string quartet "Pablo Quartet". Performed at Art Tower Mito, Yokohama Minato Mirai Hall, Nagoya International Chamber Music Festival and e.t.c.
Studied chamber music under Kiyoshi Okayama, Michiyo Suto, Hideki Kitamoto and the member of Amadeus Quartet.
Currently, active as a freelance violist, performing not only classical music but also the various genre of music on TV, concerts and so on. Locally, coachnig amateur orchestra groups and having concerts with piano.
Viola Yuji Goto Studied at Tokyo University of the Arts (former Tokyo National University of Fine Arts and Music) then 1985, completed their graduate college.

Viola Hiroshi Nagakura Born in Fukuoka
Started taking violin lesson at the age of 6, switched to Viola at the age of 14.
Graduated from Tokyo University of the Arts (former Tokyo National University of Fine Arts and Music), then joined Yomiuri Nippon Symphony Orchestra, assigned as back up first violist for 2 years.
Studied under late Mr. Takeo Inoue, late Mr. Sadao Ori, Yoshiaki Nakatsuka.
Active as chamber musician and also the instructor for students and amateur orchestra.
Viola Saori Oka Graduated from Tokyo University of the Arts (former Tokyo National University of Fine Arts and Music) then finished their Graduate School, masters.
Performed at Tokyo Bunka Kaikan, Rookies Musician concert, Won reward at Takarazuka Vega Contest, Strings Section. Gave command performance at Tokagakudo concert for new musicians in Imperial Palace.

Viola Hiroto Tobisawa Born in Kanagawa
Started taking piano lesson at the age of 5 and violin at the age of 6. After the graduation from Toho Gakuen school of Music, switched to Viola with the recommendation from the violist Mazumi Tanamura.
  1990    Won rookie award at 101th Kanagawa Ongakudo concert. Since this year, joined Saito Kinen Orchestra.
  1992    Won 2nd place (no 1st prize winner) at 4th The Maurice Vieux International Viola Competition, France.
  1995    Moved to Paris to study as a member of Overseas Study for Upcoming Artists.
  1997    Received Concert Diplom unanimously at L'Ecole Normale de Musique de Paris. Joined L'Orchestre National des Pays de la Loire as 2nd violist. Organized Ensemblen Kai with other Japanese musicians, performed at Festival Musica in Strasburg.
  1998    Record the Toru Takemitsu chamber music collection from BIS.
  2001    Be on the jury at Concours Nationaldes Jeunes Altistes.
  2005    Return to Japan and joined NHK Symphony Orchestra as a contractor./
  2006    Joined NHK Symphony Orchestra as a regular member.
Studied violin under late Ryosaku Kubota, Seiji Kageyama, Toshiya Eto, and viola under Mazumi Tanamura, Gerard Causse.
   
Violin Noé Inui Born in Brussels in July 1985, to a Greek mother and a Japanese father, Noe started having violin lessons at an early age.
After having studied at the "academie de musique" in Brussels (Prof. Jacques Dupriez) he entered the CRMB (Conservatoire Royal de Musique de Bruxelles) under Professor Veronique Bogaerts and obtained his diploma in June 1997.
At the age of 14 Noe moved to Paris to continue his studies, first at the CNR (Conservatoire National de Region) with Professor Suzanne Gessner and later at the CNSMDP (Conservatoire National Superieur de Musique et de Danse de Paris) under Olivier Charlier. Through the "Erasmus" exchange programme, Noe Inui travelled to Karlsruhe, Germany where he met his current Professor : Ulf Hoelscher. Upon return to Paris he acquired the DFS (Diplome de Formation Superieure).
Since October 2004 Noe has been living in Karlsruhe where he continues to polish and broaden his repertoire under Professor Ulf Hoelscher.
Laureate of national competitions in Belgium and of the international competition "Lipizer" in Gorizia (Italy), his latest achievement being the special prize for Young Talent at the 9th Sibelius competition. Noe Inui participates in master classes regularly, particularly in Champs sur Marne (Eduard Wulfson, Hagai Shaham, Pavel Vernikov), Prades (Olivier Charlier) and Tours (Zakhar Bron) in France, Portogruaro (Pavel Vernikov) and Cervo (Ulf Hoelscher) in Italy.
Noe has appeared several times as a soloist in orchestral works, as well as a chamber musician in Belgium, France, Luxembourg and Germany and is at equal ease in both genres. Last summer he performed in Japan and at the Martha Argerich festival in Buenos Aires.
Since February 2005, having succesfully passed a competition, Noe has been awarded the loan of a 1718 Strad by the "Landessamlung Streichinstrumente Baden-Wurttemberg".
Violin Yuki Kuwano Born in Chiba
Graduated from Tokyo University of the Arts (former Tokyo National University of Fine Arts and Music) and complete Meister class at Hochschule f ü ur Musik und Theater Munchen. While studying in Munich, had solo concert at Schloss Nymphenburg, performed chamber music with Kurt Guntner, also with Staatsoper am Gartnerplatz Orchestra as an extra.
Since 2002, reside in Germany. Currently member of Hessischen Staatstheater Wiesbaden Orchestra and Vorspieler.
Violin Takako Otake Born in Gifu< br /> 3rd place at 49th Student Music concours of Japan, Central Japan regional, High school class.
Finalist of 2005 Uralsk International Violin Competition, received diplom.
Graduated from Aichi University of the Arts, faculty of Music. From 2001, Studied at Cleveland Institute of Music in the USA as an exchange student for 1 year. Completed The International Academy of Suzuki Method, Principal class.
Since 2001, perform as a soloist with Gustav Mahler Quartet (Organized by the members of Wiener Philharmoniker and Wiener Staatsoper)

Violin Kyoko Saburi After graduating from Toho Gakuen School of Music, studied under Toshiya Eto.
Moved to Germany with the scholarships from DAAD (Der Deutsche Akademische Austauschdienst).
Studied under Saschko Gawriloff at Hochschule für Musik Köln, and under Alexander Alenkow at Konservatorium Wien.
3rd place at "Maria Canals" Barcelona International Musical Execution Competition
After returning to Japan, performing as a soloist and a member of chamber music group.
Currently active as a Concert Mistress at Tokyo Mozart Players.

Violin Asuka Sezaki Graduated from Tokyo University of the Arts (former Tokyo National University of Fine Arts and Music), and completed the 3rd course at Conservatoire national supérieur de musique.
1st place and Special Award at Takarazuka Vega Contest.
1st place, Leucadia Award, Sumi Award and Kuroyanagi Award at The music Competition of Japan.

Completed Chamber Music Course at École Normale de Musique de Paris, Alfred Cortot, Violin and Chamber Music course at Conservatoire national supérieur de musique.
Studied under Jean-Jacques Kantorow and Christian Ivaldi.

1997 - Performed with chamber music groups and as duo all over in Japan.
2003 - Organized Ensemble Terrasse and having concerts annually
Violin Yumi Tomizawa Graduated from Tokyo University of the Arts (former Tokyo National University of Fine Arts and Music) then studied at Hochschule für Musik "Hanns Eisler" Berlin
Received Performance Award, Best Players contest award, Ibaraki Rookis' Award at 43rd Student Music concours of Japan, Ibaraki Regional.
Participate Weimar Master Classes, Hochschule fur Musik und Theater Hannover chamber music academy and Kusatsu Music Festival. At the Kusatsu Music Festival, selected to perform with Kusatsu Academy Orchestra.
Studied under Ko Miyauchi, Kosaku Yamaoka, Eberhard Feltz and Tomasz Tomaszewski
Curerntly active as a freelance violinist, performing with orchestra and chamber music groups.
