Who are we?
We are a friendly, non-auditioning choir with a great love for J.S.
Bach's sacred music.
Our conductor is the Rev. Yoshitada Watanabe. He is assisted by A.
Ogawa (alto) and Y. Uzuka (tenor), both of whom are professional singers with
active careers and a lot of experience.
We rehearse on Saturday mornings between 10.00 am and 12.00 pm. We
are based primarily in Nakano, but some of the rehearsals may take place in Sugamo Church, Otsuka.
All rehearsals are conducted in Japanese, but some of our members
can speak / are learning other languages, including English, French and German.
Upon joining the choir, a joining fee (1.000 yen) and a monthly membership fee
(4.000 yen) will be collected. There is a 50% reduction for students on the monthly membership fee. Concerts are held once or twice annually, and all
expenses are split evenly among members.
We are actively looking for new members in all voices, especially
tenors, and welcome both experienced singers and the less confident. Previous experience
in choral singing is not a must.
Why don't you join us?
Send us an email
for an invitation to participate in
one of our weekly rehearsals. All rehearsals are open to guests. We are looking
forward to hearing from you!
Next Concert
Our next concert will be held on 29th January 2011 at the Nakano ZERO Hall (http://nicesacademia.jp/).
Together with our fantastic professional soloists, we will be singing J.S. Bach's Christmas Oratorio.
